A Sweet Maternity Session with a Proud Big Sister

There’s something so special about maternity sessions—they’re full of anticipation, excitement, and love. But when you add a soon-to-be big sister into the mix, especially a curious and spirited toddler, the magic is multiplied. This recent session was no exception!


I had the joy of photographing a beautiful family preparing to welcome their newest addition. Mama was glowing in the soft light, and Dad was beaming with pride. But the true star of the show? Big sister, of course!


Toddlers bring an unpredictable (and totally adorable) energy to sessions. Whether she was hugging Mama’s belly, pointing out every stick and flower she found, or asking where her baby sibling was hiding, she kept us smiling the whole time. The candid moments, full of love, are exactly what makes a session like this unforgettable.


We embraced the natural chaos that comes with toddler life—quick breaks, spontaneous dance moves, and a few snack bribes. And honestly? Those unposed, authentic moments often end up being the most cherished. They're real. They're full of personality. And they perfectly capture the fleeting chapter of life when your first baby is still so little, just before they become a big sibling.


This session wasn’t just about documenting a growing bump. It was about freezing time—the final week of a family of three, the joy in a toddler’s giggle, the quiet moments between parents, and the anticipation of new life on the horizon.
