Sophomore Year, Captured: A Portrait Session Honoring Determination, Growth & Team Spirit
This session was all heart and hustle.
I had the privilege of photographing three standout sophomore athletes from Paris Junior College’s women’s basketball team. These young women are more than just basketball players — they’re students, leaders, teammates, and role models. As they prepare to move forward to the next chapters in their academic and athletic journeys, this portrait session was a chance to celebrate their growth and capture their spirit.
We kicked things off on a scenic bridge tucked in the woods, a location as strong and natural as the bond these teammates share. Decked out in their gold-and-green jerseys, the trio posed with confidence and joy — a true reflection of the hard work and heart they’ve poured into their sport. One of my favorite moments was capturing the pure pride and support of the team manager standing between two fierce young women, both shaped by family and fueled by their passion for the game.
Then came a powerful solo moments: each unique player her green graduation gown in front of the Paris Junior College seal, basketball in hand, future on her mind. It was the perfect blend of past, present, and future — honoring the athlete she is and the graduate she’s become. These portraits are more than snapshots. They’re memories of a chapter filled with sweat, success, sisterhood, and sacrifice.
To these three incredible sophomores — thank you for letting me capture this milestone. Keep chasing greatness on and off the court. The best is yet to come!
